2010 Year in Review: Part One

Here are some highlights of our year: full of fun at home, lots of travel, and little moments we will always cherish. We are extremely blessed!

January

The household finally started sleeping again…after Abby’s teething from 6-9 months (4 teeth coming in at once!). We had some good nights of sleep, mostly in our own beds. Glad we started the new year off right with lots of sleep because it was a busy year for the Walters’!

February

We experienced a giant snowfall – over a foot – on February 12. Abby had previously had a white 1st Christmas, so this was icing on the cake for her winter fun. At 11 months old, Abby finally decided she wanted to be on the move, and she started crawling! We’ve learned that when Abby wants to do something, she just…does it!

March

Grandma Gigi came to visit for a long weekend, and helped Nate with our “fancy” stroller’s rain gear. Later in the month, we took a road trip to Albuquerque to celebrate Abby’s 1st birthday at Little Bird Farm with Nate’s family and many of our NM friends and their children.

April

Nate and I celebrated our 3rd anniversary in style at the Surrey Hotel in NYC’s Upper East Side. It was our first trip away together since we had Abby. She enjoyed 4 days with my parents, or as Abby calls them, Papa and Da.

May

Memorial Day weekend became a “cousins weekend” as we traveled to North Carolina to visit Abby’s 5-week-old cousin, Piper, and her parents. Plus, Nate’s cousin Amber and her youngest son, Gavin, joined in the Durham fray - all the way from NM.

June

Abby stood up on her own (without the aid of an ottoman, chair, bookshelf, etc.) for the first time this month. Nate also celebrated his 2nd Father’s Day, and in honor of that, I gifted him a green Weber charcoal grill. Needless to say, we had some delicious grilled meat (and even some vegetables) this summer.
